Austrian Ernest Wahliss AMPHORA Bowl/Vase - pastel lilac colors. It has a nice shape and. Is decorated with pastel colors and with great gold accents.

It is marked on the bottom with the Vienna Turn Wahliss mark. This is a beautiful hand painted vase by Ernst Wahliss Factory, pre 1918. It is hand painted in wonderful florals with gilded enameled raised dots within each flower. The handles are gold gilded with an iridescent finish. The entire piece has a lovely iridescent glaze.

It has very unique Art Nouveau handles and is in excellent condition for its age. Turn-Teplitz Amphora made by EW Turn, Vienna.

Minor wear to gilding at tip of handles. Almost unnoticeable, that do not detract from how well this piece displays.

This vase has no other apparent cracks or crazing. Inches high and 4 1/2 tall. Wahliss, ErnstErnst Wahliss of Turn-Wien, Austria, was a regarded artist who designed Amphora art pottery and art nouveau figures and busts. Wahliss produced some of the most beautiful female art nouveau busts and figures which are highly sought after today by collectors given their beauty and technical complexity.

Wahliss was unique among the amphora manufacturers for having his own retail shops in London and Vienna. This beautiful early Amphora vase is hand painted in a floral design. The embossed relief features flowers and attractive ornate deco gold handles.

The artist chose beautiful florals as the main design, showing the various flowers in pastel lilac shades, accented in gold. The colors of the flowers, and the stylized handles are lovely. Alexandra Porcelain Works Ernst Wahliss. Manufacturing turned to mostly faïence after 1910. This factory was known for its unique designs.

Name Amphora refers to art pottery produced in the Turn-Teplitz region of Bohemia during the Art Nouveau era. These wares are referred to by dealers and collectors as Teplitz. Many Amphora pieces included snakes, birds, and even mythical dragons in their designs.

Various recognized artists working in the Turn-Teplitz region were ERNST WAHLISS, Paul Dachsel and Stellmacher.
