Art Nouveau Brass Table Lamp For Loetz. Designer or Artist: N/A Year Of Design: c. 1900s Company or Studio: Loetz Country: Austria. Height: 450 mm / 17.7" Width or Diameter: 160 mm / 6.3". Notes: A rather nice and really quite scarce Art Nouveau table lamp from the turn of the 20th century, probably produced in Austria, and possibly it originally bore a glass shade by Loetz - lot 509 in Quittenbaum's 24th April 2004 sale shows this same model with a'Pampas' shade (see last photograph). The lamp comprises a central, organically tapered centre stem with whiplash'leaves' that form the legs and a cover for the stem, before both terminate in a cap with a pressed floral design. Whilst we preserved every original part of the lamp during our cleaning and rewiring process, the original bulb-holder had long since gone when we acquired the lamp. The lamp has been brought up to modern safety standards, with a high quality Italian-made Bakelite bulb-holder with in-built switch, completed with a generous length of premium Italian-made twisted cable with a grey-coloured linen braid.
