Impressive Antique Royal Vienna Pictoral Vase

This vase is a fine example from the later period depicting a marine shore scene with a central figure of a Dutch woman in clogs carrying a basket at the oceans edge with other women in the background all with baskets apparently unloading anchored ships seen in the background. The medallion is framed with a gilt band of flowers and scrolls all against a blue and pink, somewhat iridescent glaze. The reverse of vase is decorated with a stylized gilt flower.

Vase is marked on the underside with a blue beehive mark in underglaze blue with 03343. The Royal Vienna Porcelain Manufactory was in existence in the late 18th century through the late 19th century.

It was revived in 1923 as the Vienna Porcelain Manufactory Augarten. The porcelains were known for high quality painted portrait pieces and landscapes with heavily gold gilt accents.
