LÖETZ AU STR IA ART NOUVEAU LATE 19TH to EARLY 20TH CENTURY ANTIQUE 8 IRIDESCENT, STRIATED, HAND BLOWN ART GLASS VASE, in GOLDEN YELLOW with HINTS of MAUVE, VIOLET & ROSE BLUSH & SEPIA BROWN SPECKLE. [With ground, polished pontil scar & wheel-smoothed, cleated base footing]. Late 19th-early 20th century Loetz Aus tr ian hand blown art glass vases & decorative studio glass objects.

7 34" Height x 3 " Width. In very well-preserved condition with no flea-bites to its pinched upper apex margins or to the glass footing. There are also no noticeable, depreciating abrasions or scuffs on the sidewalls. This piece of turn-of-the-century Loetz Aus tr ian Art Nouveau Bohemian art glass, features golden yellow, mauve, blush pink, light violet, hints of cerulean blue and violet striated colors, that seem to pulse and glow. The vase has an iridescent satin finish and the semi-transparent, rich, saturated colors allow light to pass through, activating the complex iridescent color scheme and giving the sensation the colors continually shift and flex, if there's even the slightest shift in focal vantage point. The art glass vase has a soft, bulbous, hand-blown form, with the glass artist pinching the upper rim with a rod while the vase was being realized. There's a ground and polished pontil scar on the base plate and the cleated base footing is smoothed. Great form and tremendous fluctuating colors. Very fine and very, very beautiful.

From the internationally celebrated, late 19th to early 20th century Aus tri an Art Nouveau, Bohemian handmade art glass production workshop of Loetz. There's no signature of maker's mark on the underside of the vase but since many Loetz pieces are not marked, this is not entirely unusual or for which its absence would bring the authenticity of this Loetz antique art glass vase into question. A simply wonderful Art Nouveau piece of art glass.
