It has the VCD and Diana head mark for Vincenz Carl Dub of Vienna Austria. The Diana head mark has a " 3 " on the left for 800 silver and a " A " on the right indicating Vienna, Austria. The bowl is monogramed in center with what appears to be a " JB " but I can't tell for sure. On the bottom it is engraved, " Erinnerung an Graz/ 15/5 - 20/5 / 1902 ".
The bowl has been partly lightly polished but will still need a good detailed polishing to look its best. I will leave that to the new owner. 8 inches wide by 14 inches long handle to handle. It sets up on 4 legs.
It is about 2 3/16 inches tall at the side and 3 inches tall at the handles. It weighs 399 grams or somewhat over 12 Troy ounces.
A very unique piece from a well noted Austrian silversmith. I don't think there are many of these. Please see all enlarged photos for best idea of condition as these are a large part of the description. Auctiva offers Free Image Hosting and Editing.
