Rare Antique circa 1900s Art Nouveau Dancing Lady Sculpture on P. The sculpture depicts a dancer in beige floral dress & brown shoes. Numbered on the bottom with imprinted numbers 9418-21 & black numbers 9411-1. The sculpture has imprinted author's signature on pedestal J. Meier and t here is very old label still attached to the bottom.
The sculpture believed to be made in Goldscheider Wein manufactory (Vienna, Austria) and designed by sculptor and artist Johanna Meier. Her unique fine sculptures are highly c. The sculptor represents a professional Viennese dancer, p robably f rom the period of Biedermeier Era, which refers to the cultural period in Central Europe when the middle class grew in numbers & dominated in actual arts audiences. The term The Biedermeier Period u sed to designate the artistic styles that flourished in the fields of music & visual art. Size: Height 10" (25.4 cm) x Width 8" (20.3 cm).Condition : Very good condition for antique piece. Glaze is shiny & Intact with delicate pastel colors; face, body, clothes & shoes details are seen very well. There is small fragment of glaze is missing on the back of skirt on lower part & barely noticeable hair line on the bottom near label (please refer to last 2 pictures).
