Antique Austrian Art Nouveau Stellmacher Teplitz Porcelain Figural Flower Vase. Features a Young Peasant Woman carrying a Water Jug & bundle of Wheat next to a Tree Stump (vase). Measures 11 ½" tall, base is 6 3/8" x 5 3/8. Underglaze marks on bottom: " Stellmacher - Teplitz", E, 16, 611.
Stable firing cracks inside tree stump, holds water. No other cracks, chips or repairs.
Alfred Stellmacher began working at the Imperial & Royal Porcelain Works in Vienna, but opened his own factory in 1859, in Turn-Teplitz. In 1894 Ernst Wahliss took over the Alfred Stellmacher factory. The factory was renamed Ernst Wahliss Kunst, Porzellan und Fayence Fabrik. The photographs are an important part of the items condition.
