Antique Vienna Chocolate Cup And Saucer. With The Shield / Beehive Mark. Beautiful hand decorated cup and saucer.
The cup has a stylised gold Gilded twisted handle that separates into two at the cup body, and stands on three gold Gilded feet. The cup has a cameo showing a hand painted garden scene with a winged Cherub visiting a sleeping maiden to the front, to the sides are heavily Gilded panels of maroon and dark green. The whole being heavily Gilded.
The matching saucer has a centre that is hand painted with a garden scene and to the fore are four maidens, one is spreading rose petals, they are dressed in neo classical dress. Heavily gold Gilded decorated throughout, and with panels of maroon and dark green. Age related wear to the gilding and one foot has been a clean break and has been re stuck (please see photograph 12).
