Art Nouveau Augarten Vienna Original Scenic Plate Porcelain Porzellan Teller
A plate made by Augarten during the original period in the early 20th century. It is hand painted with a superb design typical for this period including a raised gold peacock, a silver bowl and a gold and silver planter with a peacock feather plant coming out of it. Nice cobalt blue rim with a raised gold design on it. The plate is 1.125 inches tall and 9.75 inches in diameter. It is in perfect condition and looks to only have been used once or twice with a few light scratches in the gold peacock from use. Marked underneath with the blue shield with the crown on top as well as the word Wien underneath, an under glaze blue 4 as well as the words Augarten Austria in red in a rectangular box. A rare plate from the original period much better than the later versions! 20thC Austrian Jugendstil antique scene Wien Vienna Pfauenszene Szene Szenenteller.
