This beautiful and rare Austrian Jugendstil silver and ruby vesta case is dated circa 1890. The front of the case is engraved with a floral motif and an interlocking circle with a pair of rubies and subtle hammered detail between them. The circle is the symbol of eternity, with no beginning or end, the circle of life. The space in the centre also has significance- space leading to things and events both known and unknown. The back of the vesta is decorated with the Initials:'ASC'.
Stamped 800 on the edge of the locket. Condition: In overall good antique condition with general wear commensurate with use and age.
There is a small ding on the right side of the vesta. Measurements: 5cm height x 4.8 cm.
