Austria art nouveau allegorical enamelled box. A very beautiful Austro-Hungarian presentation box, created in Vienna during the. Period, back in the early 1900.

This rare box is in great condition with no trace of use and was carefully crafted in solid. 999 sterling silver with polished finish.

Rectangular shape with sharp plain edges and chamfered frames. Mechanical push thumb lift bezel set with a round cabochon cut of a synthetic red ruby. Self-stopping cover on a flush. The cover set with an enamel plaque. Embellished with multicolor, showing a mythological allegorical image of a sleeping women assisted by two winged childs putties.

One of them is adorned with blue ribbons and holds the lady's hand in a courteous manner, denoting it is a newborn male. The other assists her, whispers in her ear and caresses her abundant mane, which denotes being the guardian angel of the newborn child. The panels around and the back are cream enameled. This elegant presentation box display highest caliber of workmanship. Weight : 92.40 Grams, (59.23 Dwt). Measurements : 77 mm by 50 mm by 12 mm (3.03 x 1.97 x 0.47 Inches).
