Austrian Royal Dux Antique Art Nouveau Amphora Style Antique Vase. Signed
Antique Royal Dux Bohemian Amphora Style Art Nouveau Vase. Signed "Royal Dux Austria" (partially blurry) & numbered with 9229 plus two impressed marks on the bottom. The vase is in typical Art Nouveau symbolic shape and decorated in Alfonse Mucha style with pastel colors of yellow, green & pink with gold accent. In the late of 19th cent European artists broke from naturalistic highly detailed representation & engaged with mystical movement of symbolism & dream-like images became prominent examples of symbolism art. This vase is a case example of such patterns.
Small manufactured imperfections (see last collage picture). Porcelain production was introduced to Bohemia in 1794. First Bohemian porcelain production was in Carlsbad (Karlovy Vari) & Teplitz as kaolin deposits were found there. In the end of 19th century Dux beautiful exquisite items were well known and widely brought all over Europe, Russia and North America. Size in inches : H 11" x Diameter top opening 2" x Diameter bottom 3.3" x circumference 13.7" widest part on the bottom x circumference narrowest part 4.7.
