This biscuit jar features exquisite painting and embossing along the top and bottom of the porcelain jar. It is marked on the bottom with the blue Turn Vien crown mark which reads "Depose" (above the crown), "E W" and "Turn Vien" in the crown, and "Made in Austria" below the crown. The silver plated lid is also marked (see photos).

It measures 8 1/2 tall with the handle up. 7" tall with the handle down (to the top of the finial), and about 6" wide. This lovely piece is in nice antique condition.

It is pre-owned, but it has been well cared for and valued over the years. There is crazing on the bottom from age, and the silver plated handle and rim (which might be brass) could use some polishing. It is listed exactly as I found it. I have made no attempt to clean it. Please look closely at the photos as they perhaps can better describe this piece than I can using words. It would make a lovely addition to a European porcelain collection or a nice antique accent piece in any room. I cannot find another Ernst Wahliss biscuit jar anywhere for sale on line! This year marks my 42nd year as an estate liquidator. I strive to be accurate in my listing descriptions.
