Superb Signed Hand Enameled French / Austrian Pottery Lamp Base

SUPERB SIGNED HAND ENAMELED FRENCH / AUSTRIAN? This is a lovely and I would think quite rare, signed and hand enamelled French / Austrian? Lamp base made in the arts & crafts / art nouveau style that dates, I'd guess, to the early 20th.

Century - to be honest I've had this piece for some time but have been unable to work out who made it even though it is signed (it may even be British, the French appellation is from the person I bought it from). It is depicted in an ovoid form standing over a stepped foot with decorative gilt metal top and bottom.

While the body is rendered in a lovely textured sap green ground with a stunning raised Arts & Crafts / Art Nouveau hand painted images of flowers around the body manner of the latter 19th. Century - it's a very nice thing and difficult to do justice to. It is signed to the reverse body (but I can't work out by who), while the base is un-examined without the base - for all see photographs. It measures 7 3/4" (19.5cm) h x 3 1/8" (8cm) w approx; and is in excellent condition, with only some light wear consistent with its age to report - again for all see photographs. This is a stunning rare and unusual piece of signed period hand painted pottery that's in great condition which with a low start price should have considerable appeal to all collectors, especially if you know who it's by - for me it's quality is its testament. THERE IS NO RESERVE ON THIS SALE. Almost everything I sell is in the condition I have bought it, unless otherwise stated, (I have learnt to my cost in the past not to tamper with an item), and therefore I have neither had items repaired nor restored.
