Truly Breathtaking Bohemia Austrian Robert Hanke Large Ewer/Pitcher Centerpiece C1890. 15in x 8in x 6in. His pottery factory (Tonwarenfabrik Robert Hanke), founded in 1882, was located in Ledvice and produced beautiful unique luxury Vases, Ewers, Pitchers, and Fine Porcelains. Bohemia was at that time part of Austria. This is a wonderfully unique Robert Hanke Austrian Royal hand painted Ewer centerpiece.
The creamy top quality satin finish of the porcelain background offsets the lovely artistic hand painted flowers and leaves of Lilacs and Greens all gold trimmed. Gold embellished handle and spout, which includes figural raised relief of the porcelain surfaces see pictures! It bears the maker mark of a crown over "RH" atop the words Made in Austria. All of the mark is in red.
This breathtaking unique antique is in excellent condition. The satin finish of the top quality porcelain is lovely with no crazing whatsoever. There is a tiny superficial crack about 1/8 inch (see picture) on the bottom of the base which would have occurred during the original firing process and is the only blemish in this wonderful antique.
